Golf in The Villages, Florida

The complete AJ Home Rentals guest guide to tee times, Executive and Championship courses, golf fees, trail passes, Pitch & Putt, practice facilities and more.

Welcome to America's Golf Playground. Staying with AJ Home Rentals puts you in the middle of one of the most unique golf communities in the country — and yes, AJ guests with Temporary Resident Lifestyle IDs can participate in The Villages golf system.

🪪

First Things First: Get Your Temporary Resident Lifestyle ID

AJ paid rental guests must first pick up their Temporary Resident Lifestyle IDs before they can independently use The Villages resident tee-time system. Your ID provides the Villages identification / member number you need to access the golf reservation system. You cannot independently reserve Villages tee times before your ID has been issued.

How AJ Guests Book a Tee Time

Follow these five steps from reservation email to first tee.

  1. 1

Pick Up Your Temporary Resident ID

Your Temporary Resident Lifestyle ID must be issued after arrival. It provides the Villages identification number needed for the golf reservation system.

    Temporary Resident ID Guide
  2. 2

Get Your Golf PIN / Confirm Golf Access

The Villages golf system uses your Villages ID number plus a Golf PIN. If you do not know or receive your PIN, contact the Tee Time Office — do not guess.

    Tee Time Office: 352-750-4558
  3. 3

Choose How You Want to Book

Use the automated phone system or book online through TheVillages.net Member Services.

    Option A — Automated Phone

    352-753-GOLF (352-753-4653)

Available ~23 hrs/day (offline ~midnight–1 AM). Request 4–7 days out, reserve 1–3 days out, or call the shop same-day.

    Option B — TheVillages.net Online

    $8/mo resident · $8.5/mo non-resident

A paid subscription member website (not the free Villages app). First-month free trial subject to terms.

  4. 4

    Understand REQUEST vs RESERVATION

Requests (4–7 days out) are processed by a points-based system ~3 days before play. Reservations (1–3 days out) grab remaining open tee times directly.

  5. 5

    Same-Day Golf

Want to play today? Call the Championship golf shop or Executive starter building and ask about available same-day tee times.

    View Course Directory
Request

4–7 Days Before Play

You tell the system your preferred day, courses, time range and group size. The system processes requests and assigns tee times approximately three days before play.

The Villages system is not first come, first served. It uses a points-based system to distribute tee times fairly — your recent tee-time history and other factors affect assignment.

Reservation

1–3 Days Before Play

After the request process runs, remaining open tee times may be reserved directly — perfect for last-minute golfers, flexible schedules, singles, couples, and guests who didn't submit an earlier request.

The Tee-Time Point System

The Villages doesn't assign advance request times simply by who clicks first. It uses points to distribute golf access fairly. Think of it this way: played several times recently? You may have more reservation points. Haven't played recently? You may have fewer points. When requests compete for similar courses and times, lower point totals can improve assignment priority.

⛳ AJ Golf Tip

If golf is a major part of your vacation, don't request only one course at exactly 9:00 AM. Select several acceptable courses and a broader time range to improve your chance of receiving a tee time.

Signature Everyday Golf

Executive Golf

Mostly 9-hole, predominantly Par-3 layouts distributed throughout The Villages — reachable by golf cart from your AJ rental.

Temporary Resident Lifestyle ID holders receive the resident Executive Golf privilege. Executive greens fee for AJ Temporary Residents is $0 / included with eligible resident privileges — but golf-cart use is separate (see Fees).

Level 4

Greens Fee

Using a Cart

Trail fee/pass

Green Fee vs. Trail Fee — Don't Confuse Them

Green Fee

The cost to play the course. For AJ Temporary Resident ID holders, Executive golf is an eligible resident privilege — included.

Trail Fee

The fee for using a golf cart on the Executive Golf Trail. Separate from the green fee.

Golf Cart Rules on Executive Courses

Most Executive holes are Par 3, so carts generally remain on the cart path. Some longer holes may allow carts off the path under normal conditions, subject to course conditions and posted rules. Always follow starter instructions, ambassador instructions, cart-path signs and daily restrictions — never assume "cart accessible" means you can drive directly to your ball.
